ABACUS IME EVALAUTION(S):

PRIMARY EVALUATIONS:

There are three primary basic types of evaluations Abacus IME provides In the Texas Worker’s Compensation System:

  • Initial Medical Evaluation:
    • This evaluation is performed when the injured employee (IE) is believed to have reached MMI.
    • The treating doctor refers the injured employee(s) by providing a referral script for the evaluation.
    • This type of evaluation addresses two questions:
      • Has the injured employee reached Maximum Medical Improvement MMI?
      • If so, determine if the IE has an impairment and determine the impairment rating if any.
  • Designated Doctor Evaluation(s):
    • The TDI-DWC designates a certified doctor to perform these evaluations.
    • These evaluations may include one, a combination of or all of the following issues:
      • Maximum Medical Improvement (MMI)
      • Impairment Rating (IR)
      • Alternate Post Designated Doctor Evaluation
      • Extent of Injury (EOI)
      • Return to Work Status (RTW)
