
ABACUS IME EVALAUTION(S):
PRIMARY EVALUATIONS:
There are three primary basic types of evaluations Abacus IME provides In the Texas Worker’s Compensation System:
- Initial Medical Evaluation:
- This evaluation is performed when the injured employee (IE) is believed to have reached MMI.
- The treating doctor refers the injured employee(s) by providing a referral script for the evaluation.
- This type of evaluation addresses two questions:
- Has the injured employee reached Maximum Medical Improvement MMI?
- If so, determine if the IE has an impairment and determine the impairment rating if any.
- Designated Doctor Evaluation(s):
- The TDI-DWC designates a certified doctor to perform these evaluations.
- These evaluations may include one, a combination of or all of the following issues:
- Maximum Medical Improvement (MMI)
- Impairment Rating (IR)
- Alternate Post Designated Doctor Evaluation
- Extent of Injury (EOI)
- Return to Work Status (RTW)
- Disability.
- Independent Medical Exams - Second Opinion Assessments.
- Disability Evaluations.
- FCE: Functional Capacity Evaluations
- Range of Motion/Muscle Strength Testing
- Pre-Employment Screening
- Post Job Offer Medical Testing
